Cleveland’s guardian fans were expelled from Sunday’s game after suicide attempts opened up Boston Red Sox outfielder Jarren Duran.

The team said fans said “inappropriate things” to Duran after flying out of the seventh inning in the seventh inning against Guardians. He was on the top of the canoe and glared at the fan as the rest of the situation continued. Then, when baseball personnel and progressive field safety handled the situation, he was taken away.

Fans tried to escape through the aisle, but he was captured and removed from the stadium.

“We are aware of what happened today between fans and a Red Sox player who violated our fans' behavior policy,” The Guardian said in a statement after the game. “We recognize the gravity of the controversial behavior here and are very serious about this nature.

“We apologize to the Red Sox, the players involved, fans in the region. We have identified the fans involved and will be in the next step with Major League Baseball. We strive to provide the best experience for the players and fans we visit, and today is not enough.”

Duran, who revealed suicide attempts in the Netflix documentary Clubhouse: A Year with the Red Sox, talked about the incident.

“The fans just said something inappropriate. I'm so happy to handle it safely, the referees have realized that and they took care of it for me.”

“When you open yourself like this, you open to the enemy, too. But I have a good support staff, teammates, coaches around me. Some fans are supporting me, so it's amazing.”
