A “Jeopardy!” contestant had a few misses when it came to Céline Dion's hits.

Hawaii-based reporter Drew Goins is competing on “Jeopardy!” The 2025 Championship Wildcard Tournament missed a question about the “My Heart Will Go On” singer – who gave a special shout-out to Dion earlier in the episode.

During Friday's episode, Goins listed several people he wanted to thank, including one celebrity.

“Producer John said long and hard, I'm grateful to Céline Dion. So, thank you, Céline Dion.

“Does she know what she did?” host Ken Jennings asked.

“Oh, she does,” Goins replied. “deep.”

Later in the episode, Goins had the chance to learn more about the singer while posing a $2,000 question from the “Number One Hits of the '90s” category.

Jennings read: “Sharing the title with the earlier, more optimistic Huey Lewis, it was Celine Dion's first in 1994.”

But instead of buzzing, Goins was stressed out and panicked about the issue. He, along with the other contestants, was unable to answer and a buzzer signaled that time was running out.

“Oh, she's going to be mad, Drew,” Jennings joked as the contestant left the podium and pretended to leave the scene.

Jennings finally revealed the answer to the question, sharing: “Like Huey Lewis, Céline Dion sang a song called 'The Power of Love.'”

Returning to the podium, Goins defended his mistake, saying: “I was born in 1994!”

The reporter ended up placing second in the Championship Wildcard Tournament finals, earning a $40,000 prize. As the runner-up, Goins still sneaks into the upcoming championship tournament, where he is scheduled to play in the quarterfinals on February 3.

Although Goins was disappointed with Dion's issues, he had a memorable moment of redemption against another pop superstar, Taylor Swift, at the Second Chance Tournament.

Goins failed to answer the $800 question on a September 2024 episode of “Jeopardy!”: “Taylor Swift's record 4 Aoty Grammys was the album in 2010.”

There's no contestant buzz, it's “Fearless.”

Then, on the January 6th episode of “Danger,” he ran into the $200 problem, “In 2014, Taylor Swift gave us the title of the album, titled A Different Year ”

This time, there was no silence on the question, with Goins buzzing with the reply: “What is '1989'?”

“Redemption Drew!” Jennings said and the crowd started cheering. “The crowd went crazy.”
