After U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said this posed a “threat” to Donald Trump, the US Secret Service's photo of shells posted on Instagram has now been investigated by the US Secret Service.

Comey posted a photo of the shells on Thursday forming the message “8647” with the title, which read: “Cool shells formed on my beach trail.”

Trump supporters interpret the message as recognition of the violence of the 47th President Trump. There is more debate about the use of 86, and restaurants often use a term that means getting rid of or throwing things away, which has been used recently, although few people use it to mean “kill.”

Comey later resigned from his position and said in a statement that he was unaware of the potential meaning of the shell and said he would not tolerate any form of violence.

“I posted earlier photos of some of the shells I saw on the beach walk today, and I think it was a political message,” Comey said in a statement. “I didn't realize that some people associate these numbers with violence. I've never happened, but I'm against any kind of violence, so I fell down my post.”

A Secret Service spokesman confirmed the agency was “aware of the incident” and said it would “strive to investigate” any potential threats, but did not provide further details.

The post ignited a fire on the right, with Trump loyalists accusing the former FBI director of calling for alleged stabbing. Last year, Trump survived a campaign in Pennsylvania.

“The lost former FBI director James Comey just called for the assassination of Potus Trump. The DHS and the Secret Service are investigating the threat and will respond appropriately.”

Comey and Trump have a deep antagonistic relationship that goes back to the early days of the first Trump administration, and according to Comey, Trump tried to secure the loyal commitment of the FBI directors who were rejected at the time.

In a move that shocked Washington, Trump dismissed Comey, who is leading a crime investigation to study Russian interference in the U.S. election. Comey later wrote a memoir about the episode that prompted Trump to declare him “unreal slime ball.”

Comey is still the noire of the magazine world, and whenever he goes on political competition, it stimulates the right.

The president's allies quickly condemned Comey on Thursday. “We know about the recent social media posts by former FBI Director James Comey,” FBI Director Kash Patel wrote on X.

Although President Trump is currently traveling internationally in the Middle East, the former FBI director has launched something clearly interpreted as a “hit” to the current U.S. president, a message engraved on the beach.

White House Deputy Chief of Staff Taylor Budowich also called the photo “deeply” and accused Comey of the announcement “can obviously be interpreted as a 'shot to the current U.S. president.”

Tennessee Congressman Tim Burchett, a Trump supporter, called on Comey to jail. “Arson Comey,” he wrote on X.
