“Green Album” Plants released by Califia Farms and Chris O'Dowd

Califia Farms is known for its plant-powered milk and coffee creamer, but the beverage brand has powered some music through its latest release.

Now available to stream on Spotify, “Califia Farms' Green Album” features soothing voices and mindful meditations narrated by actor Chris O'Dowd. Head Flower: While you can easily use the album as part of your daily (or nightly) routine, Califia says the songs are “designed to help plants thrive.” Yes, the green album has a big name.

Of course, there is no definite evidence that playing music for your plants can help them grow, although a 2023 report found that nearly two-thirds of gardeners have tuned for their crops. The general consensus seems to be that quiet music (i.e. classical or new age) helps plant bloom, while more demanding music (i.e. heavy metal or punk) can cause stress.

Califia Farms' green album has 11 tracks with a run time of 27 minutes. As part of the release, Califia will plant a tree on Spotify and a tree on Spotify with the goal of planting 25,000 trees in areas where afforestation efforts are needed.
