Fantastic festival, new type tag Chroma launches great tones
Boldly integrating into production financing, Austin's “Flowers of Wonder” celebrates its 20th anniversary by launching an excellent stadium in partnership with the new genre of Chroma.
Ahbra Perry has been appointed Vice President of Chroma, a vice president dedicated to global distribution, acquisition and production of bold, visionary genre cinemas.
Perry is the former head of Alamo On Deman, a unique genre film, and director of the giant OTT channel and drama acquisition of Drafthouse movies.
Supported by an experienced team of distribution executives, Perry takes on a new role and will oversee Chroma’s slate and spearhead production efforts, with a focus on improving the filmmaker’s budget and smaller budgets and creative vision to support the next wave of independent genre cinemas.
“We are at a turning point in the future of independent films and the emerging talent that pushes Chroma to the championship feels as right as it is at the right time,” Perry said. “We eat, breathe and sleep genres – the filmmakers we work with do too. Every project we work on is great in its own way.” “That’s why this partnership with the wonderful festival is more perfect – it’s about serving artists we love and artists we haven’t known yet.”
The film should be independent works and shot in English, although projects have been accepted from anywhere in the world. Submissions for feature film promotions will be open from June 16 to August 8. Finalists will participate in a live pitching event in Austin, Texas, judged by a group
Industry experts will be announced on-site winners.
The wonderful tone invites the idea of micro-budget genre characterizing creative ideas. The winning team at Fantastic Theatre will receive $100,000 in funding to complete their film, which was a global debut at Fantastic Fest in 2026, and a global all-around distribution through Chroma through Chroma, backed by narrative releases.

As genre production grows around the world, this is largely driven by a new generation of filmmakers, the fantastic stadium sees the festival tilting its toes in project development. So far, the Wonderful Festival has no project display and formal market.
Dreyer said in Cannes that the stadiums were “the first step to hope to build this goal”. She added: “A lot of genres have been made and with the success of titles such as “Material”, people have seen their commercial value.”
“The box office is just a testament to people want to see genre movies. We've seen amazing creative movie movies. There's never enough art in the world, and genre movies are part of it,” she said.
However, Perry notes: “It is still remarkable to get a release of any kind for many small movies.”
“Every year we see so many amazing movies, you know, they can't even release Sundance,” Dreyer said.
She added: “Chroma can help make, direct filmmakers to states where taxes can be earned, in order to really extend $100,000.” The whole point of the Wonderful Course is to really help these filmmakers and then premiere globally in Fantastic Festival. But we rewrite the script, introducing how the indie genre films are made – from pitch to premiere. ”
