Bo Nickal vs. Reinier de Ridder UFC in ESPN 67 Expert Draft, Prediction
Des Moines' joint home event featured Nickal and De Ridder in an interesting middleweight showdown.
Despite long debates about higher skills and athletic ceilings, I'm not sure if Nickel is ready for such a game as odds do. This may be the lowest bet line set in Nickal battles so far, but there is good reason.
In addition to having the ability to submit skills to take advantage of the battle scenes, the Dutch is also a deceptive striker, given his length, aggressiveness and embarrassment.
I'd love to know if De Ridder's amazing results have improved since he spent with Henri Hooft and Company in South Florida, but I doubt he has the tools to be upset about scoring here.
Nickal's praise and background deserves respect, but let's not pretend we haven't seen senior wrestlers like Ed Ruth or Yoel Romero fight progressively in their respective MMA professions.
The draft pick is the rider submitted in Round 2.
