Australia's fastest-growing jobs are in education, tourism and hospitality, with roles such as English teachers, waiters and travel specialists topping LinkedIn's list of rising jobs by 2025.
LinkedIn career expert Cayla Dengate told CNBC Make It: “We’re seeing a strong focus on technology and engineering roles in 2024, with roles such as cybersecurity analysts, platform engineers and integration engineers at the top of the list in Australia Leading position.”
Denguet said that while these sectors remained critical, “the shift towards hospitality, tourism and education in 2025 reflects broader economic and social trends”. “This includes recovery from the pandemic and the increasing importance of soft skills and continuous learning.”
Notably, 'English teacher' was named Australia's fastest growing role. Denguet said this was driven by a number of factors, such as the increasing demand for English language skills as the country's international student population grows.
A recovery in these industries could provide opportunities for job seekers seeking to enter or re-enter the workforce, she added.

Jobs in artificial intelligence are among the fastest growing in the US and UK, according to LinkedIn, but AI roles do not appear on the list in Australia.
Still, Dengate said professionals can future-proof their careers by continually upskilling and adapting to the changing workplace.
“In today's job market, soft skills such as communication, empathy and adaptability are increasingly valuable. As artificial intelligence reshapes the workforce, the value of human-centered capabilities has never been greater,” she said.
