Over the past few days, the storm has swept these areas, destroying EF2 tornadoes in Washington County, Kentucky and Loudon County, Tennessee.

On Saturday afternoon, heavy rain continued to enter the Northeast, with heavy rain extending from New England to the Mid-Atlantic. As of 2 p.m. ET, storms in the area frequently produced lightning, gusts and small hail. In total, 5 million people across the Atlantic and southern plains face minor risks of severe weather, including Oklahoma and Tulsa, Oklahoma. Wichita, Kansas; and Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Storm chances will increase in the plains on Saturday evening, with some storms wandering early Sunday morning. These thunderstorms will bring heavy hail, harmful winds and the risk of a tornado or two. The inclement weather risks will be transferred to Texas by noon Sunday, covering part of the risk at Brian, Waco and University stations. On Friday, downtown Los Angeles hit 96 temperatures, beat the record of 95 games, according to the city's National Weather Services field office.

This weekend, some wildfires in parts of Canada's Manitoba and Saskatchewan province will continue to smoke.

Currently, more than 20 million people in the Midwest have reached air quality alerts. Minnesota and Michigan, cities including Minneapolis, Duluth and Grand Rapids, are in risk zones. The smoke from these fires and hazy skies may be visible along the Gulf Coast.

During the middle of the work week, air quality conditions are expected to improve throughout the Midwest upper part.
