The aircraft runs as a U.S. Eagle 5342 flight, starting from Wicho in Kansas, and tried to land on the 33rd runway at Reagan Airport (DCA).
DC Fire and EMS confirmed that a small aircraft hit the Potoma River near the airport, and helicopters and fireboat rushed to the scene to find survivors. “There are multiple partner agencies to coordinate the search and rescue operation of the Poto Mark River,” Press release From DC Fire and EMS and Metropolitan Police Station.
DCA and its surrounding airspace becomes complicated due to the flight restrictions on the airport and government buildings. This is also the influx of police and military helicopters operated by the area, which is also a particularly busy lead.
