Katy Perry is on a very different path this year than Katy Perry, who last toured eight years ago.

Yes, she is engaged to Orlando Bloom and gave birth to their daughter Daisy, who is now five. she judges american idol Seven seasons, two albums dropped, and 80 shows under her belt Play live. But: “You know, every seven years, all cells regenerate,” she told rolling stones Wink. “I'm a different person overall, literally, biologically, physically! But actually, life has completely evolved, so I'm excited.”

On Monday, the pop star announced that she will bring her Lifetime Tour to the United States later this year. The show's performances will celebrate her hits throughout her career while retaining the sci-fi theme of her latest album, 143. She also approaches her time on the road with newfound inspiration and motivation. “The longer I live, the better I am,” she said. “I'm 40 now and I feel like so much has changed inside me… For a long time, Katy Perry and Katherine The balance between Katheryn Hudson is so far gone.” (Hudson, for those who forgot, is her last name before her first name.)

She credits the 2024 experience, especially 143to get her to this point. “It makes me feel grounded, especially that I’m able to create or find my identity as an artist outside of music.”

Recently, she has been sharing some of these life experiences with young artists including Doechii rolling stones Perry suggested she didn't read the online comments. “I had to find all these tools and heal something about myself,” Perry said.

Your new tour is called “Tour of a Lifetime” because you 143 song. Is this the “Katie's Time” tour?
It's sure to hit and celebrate the catalog throughout life so far. I always remember the audience being a mix of different types of people. It's a fan first, then just a voyeur. Someone who only knows one of my songs, and then someone who knows “Simple”. What a smorgasbord.

We are giving BPM. We are giving solidarity. We are dancing. We are empowering. We feel that we are connecting with strangers. I have a responsibility to the audience to sing to them, create that moment, and bring out some nostalgia. But as an artist, I have a responsibility to stay true to my art. So I'm going to introduce some new songs. We'll be creating parts for some of the deepest cuts on this tour, songs that have never seen the light of day. So in “a lifetime”, yes, we go deep.

So you perform “self-harm” on the road?
Well, that will be up to you.

    Really? So will fans decide?
    Most likely yes.

    justice Smileno trip was made!
No, because my C-section is healing. I can't go downstairs! I’m raising the whole person. certainly, Smile I came out two days after giving birth. I was still recovering from Daisy and I remember being in a hospital bed. I was like, “Yeah, my album is out. The nurse is going to wipe my ass now!” It was a completely different time in my life. Everything is different. I like it.

I love how you connect your life points to different album eras. what is 143 A defining era for you in your personal life?
Smile is a record about finding my smile again despite all the tough situations I've been through between witness and Smile. I didn’t know the love I would feel or receive after becoming a mother. So I think this album, 143 – “I Love You” – celebrates the unconditional love I was told, but now that I actually experience it.

I think 143 is grounded. It's undeniably sexy. It's tapping into that divine feminine, tapping into the creative and life-giving power. It's full of love, it's got a lot of humor in it, but “All the Love” is a song that I play on my show right now and is where I am right now.

you still feel 143 era? Are we continuing this trip?
We will continue it. It still has this sci-fi flavor to it. It will be experiential, it will be interactive, it will be a wonderful spectacle of love. More and more.

Visuals are an important part of your art and performance. But your taste in choosing openers: You've brought Charli XCX, Carly Rae Jepsen, Marina and the Diamonds and Kacey Musgraves,,,,,
I feel like a mother when I choose a corkscrew. I really enjoy supporting new acts, especially new female acts. So I'm excited about who's going to be on the road with us.

Do you already know? Can you give me a hint?
We know some things and some unknowns. One of them might be a real name, and then some of them are European, across the pond. There will be different behaviors for different territories and that's what I like to do. I like to break it down so fans can get a true experience, especially if they're on two different shows. Katycats love to travel, so they get different shows. From me and the corkscrew.

That's really exciting. Some of your trips have storylines. Will we have anything like this in this regard?
Yes. It's always a light take on the narrative. The narrative is always about finding love, finding your voice and empowerment. Of course, that's a hopeful future in these weird times: What's the point of this game of life? Why are we here? It's love and connection.

You'll be performing at FireAid on Thursday. Many of your peers will be there as well. Was it nice to see anyone that night?
always. It's nice to connect with people I haven't seen in a long time and be able to use that grounding when I see them. I was so impressed and inspired by the community in California, internationally, and around the world to join the Plate to help any evacuees or people who have lost something or lost everything. It does show that communities are sometimes more powerful than governments, or that people have power.

Is there anyone performing that you’re excited to see?
Is it undoubtedly the playing instinct? ah. I might have to pop up without a doubt. I love Billy. We love Billy. She is a king.

I had the pleasure of meeting you and Gaga on the same night.
Yes. Wouldn't that be great? I think we'll only play a few songs and there will be a lot of them in between conversations. The cool thing is, we're all just here to help. There is no other perspective. Music heals in its own way.

Stevie Nicks, who was also in the FireAid lineup, talked about you in her Rolling Stone interview last year. She said, “About 10 years ago, Katy Perry was talking to me about all the internet armies of female singers and how cruel and scandalous they are.” How do you reflect on that conversation and where you are now?
I really look up to Stevie and I think I'm talking to her about what she's going through. In pop music, especially among women, they put a lot of pressure on them. It’s amazing to have people who hold your head up and tell you how to navigate. I'm going to do this, I like giving out cheat codes.

Even being able to do this song with doechii, we had a lot of candid conversations. I'm like, “Girl, here's the cheat code. Give it a try. If you want to not only survive, if you want to thrive, if you want to have a life in this, if you want to have the human experience and not just be famous and hide away Being in a hotel somewhere and never truly experiencing the beauty of life.”

You always respect those who paved the way before you. I think where I am now, I'm happy in some ways to be that person anyone asks. I'm very honest about it and I reach out and just be like, “Hey, are you okay?” Like, I'm here.

Chappell Roan said you contacted her last year.
I'm like, are you okay? Because it's like a weird experiment! Not everyone is under this kind of intense pressure, on this scale and in this spotlight. These days, that's quick. It's really thrown in there.

must. I feel like you've had your fair share of that this year as well.
I think I've grown a lot. Like I said, it's been eight years since I've been touring, and (I'm) more balanced. I think when I go through tough times, it's because I put all my eggs in one basket. Then, the basket broke. I'm a Scorpio. For me, it’s all about rebirth, it’s all about change. This is my karma through this game of life. I always find positives in negatives because life is all about duality. Even if it fucking sucks, it always allows you to find positive options.

A few years ago, when we last spoke, we showed you drag race – just happened. What lessons have you learned from 2024? What energy will you bring into 2025?
I’m proud to be able to rely on the balance I’ve created this time. I'm proud of my family life, my family life, and the beauty that I have and the foundation that I have.

I'm so excited to see this world tour through Daisy's eyes. It's like seeing Christmas in a completely different light. When you have a young child, their eyes are opened to the craziest things. Can you imagine being happy to see airplanes in the sky? Look up at the sky and you will see a plane, are you excited and happy? Did you get a dopamine hit from it? That's crazy! Imagine how much I could experience by seeing it all. I will survive this energy.
