    St. Mary's Quick Hit

Eddie Madrigal was definitely a revelation in the third year of the program, increasing the pro numbers offensively and leading the Gaels into their second NCAA regional appearance. Madrigal will head to Corvallis with 0.372 hits, 86 hits, 21 home runs, 77 RBIs and up to 1.183 OPS. Madrigal also broke the single-season planning record in scoring (64) and RBI (77) and ranked second (86) in single-season hit percentage (86), 21st in the season.

-Madrigal was named the global WCC first team for his first full-game selection in his career and was named the WCC Championship's most outstanding player for his efforts in the Gaels Championship. He ended five playoff games with an average of .455, ten hits, four doubles, two home runs, 13 scoring and 11 RBIs.

The honor becomes even more impressive considering the end of the season where Madrigal suffered a knee injury in 2024. He has since recovered and compiled one of the best offensive seasons in the history of the program.

St. Mary has the best offense in the league and has impressive numbers

St. Mary leads the WCC with an average hit rate of 0.302 as they have one of the deepest and most extensive offenses on the West Coast. They broke several single-season records, including scoring this season (458), doubles (115) and RBI. They ranked first in the I division with batting average, hit percentage and score hit percentage. Eddie Madrigal anchored the lineup to the lead, while the 7-through-9 average hit average of .307 (Mettam, Armstrong, Griffith) in the lineup.

Cody Kashimoto led the country to the top of the squad with 21 shots this season, which put him and Madrigal at the top of the lineup. If the Madrigal base starts a inning, that almost guarantees Kashimoto beat him, giving Gaels two shots on the plate with the runners' scoring position.
