    Many Americans plan to go to the sky to enter their destination this summer.

    The season ahead of the American Airlines announced that between May 16 and September 2, 715,000 flights had been booked – July 6 is expected to be the most traveled day.

    American Airlines hopes to remove some of the anxiety from some of these flights by introducing new technologies to their connected customers.

    “If the airline determines that it can delay flights without any impact on the airline's schedule, we will propose a brief shelving to get those connected customers on board,” the airline announced in a press release.

    The technology will be launched first at the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport hub in Texas to “identify (y) flights with customers who may miss the flight.”

    It is unclear how long it can be held in the aircraft and whether it will have any impact on the peers.

    The press release also noted that the technology “helps automate and enhance existing processes to keep certain connected flights so that airlines can help more customers connect and get to their final destination.”

    After its first launch, American Airlines plans to expand testing to Charlotte Douglas International Airport in North Carolina, and then other hubs in the summer.

    “When customers travel on a tough summer vacation, expectations are high,” Heather Garboden, chief customer officer of American Airlines, said in a press release.

    The AAA announced that 45.1 million Americans will travel at least 50 miles from home during the long weekend.

    AAA is expected to fly to destinations of 3.61 million people in millions of Americans travel. This is a 2% increase from last year.

    “Whether it's our redesigned app, improvements to our boarding process or other new technologies throughout the operation, we are excited to have the new experience and improved experience of traveling with us this summer,” Garboden added.
