Former Vice President Kamala Harris urged Democrats across the country to act like elephants in a speech Wednesday night.

Harris has delivered her first public speech since losing the 2024 election in California on Wednesday, giving an angry and negative opinion on the first 100 days of President Donald Trump’s tenure.

“Please allow me, friends digress for a moment,” she told the audience at Emerge's 20th anniversary party in San Francisco. “Okay, it's a bit dark here, but I'm going to ask for a show from someone. Who saw that video a few weeks ago? An elephant at the San Diego Zoo during the earthquake. If you don't see it, google it.

“So I've been thinking about that scene. Everyone keeps asking what you're thinking. For those who haven't seen it, those elephants are here, and once they feel the earth shaking under their feet, they circle a circle and stand next to each other next to each other to protect the most vulnerable. Think about it. What powerful metaphor is there,” she continued.

She added: “Because we know that those who try to incite fear are most effective when they divide and conquer. When they separate the herd, when they try to make everyone think they are alone.

“Instincts have to find and connect with each other immediately and know that the circle will be stronger,” she said.

Many users on social media quickly laughed at Harris’ story because her speech background was strange.

One user @johnetiffany1 wrote: “It's better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you're a fool, rather than opening up all the questions.”

The former vice president did not talk about her possible contemplating a California governor campaign during her speech.
